Air Tractor is an aircraft manufacturer based in Olney, Texas, that produces agricultural planes powered by Pratt & Whitney engines. The company was founded in 1978 by Leland Snow, who also founded Snow Aeronautical and designed the S-1, S-2A, and S-2B models. In 1958, Snow moved production facilities to Olney, where the Thrush model was developed and produced until 1970. After resigning from Rockwell-Standard, Snow spent two years designing the Air Tractor. The AT-300, later known as the AT-301, was the first model produced by Air Tractor in 1972. The company expanded its plant in Olney after delivering its 1,100th aircraft. Air Tractor’s line of planes includes models with capacities ranging from 400 to 800 US gallons powered by either piston or turbine engines from Pratt & Whitney.
