BELLANCA

Bellanca Aircraft Company (now known as AviaBellanca Aircraft Corporation) is a United States-based aircraft design and manufacturing company. It was founded in 1927 by Giuseppe Mario Bellanca, who had designed aircraft for firms such as the Maryland Pressed Steel Company, Wright Aeronautical Corporation, and the Columbia Aircraft Corporation. Before the company was founded, partnerships were formed in which aircraft with the Bellanca name were produced. Bellanca’s aircraft designs gained fame for world record endurance and distance flights due to their efficiency and low operating cost. The company’s significant accomplishment was Lindbergh’s selection of its WB-2 aircraft for his New York to Paris flight. In 1954, Bellanca sold the company to L. Albert and Sons, and from then on, the Bellanca line was part of a succession of companies that maintained the lineage of the original aircraft produced by Bellanca. In 2021, the company was reformed as Bellanca Aircraft, Inc and located in Sulphur, Oklahoma. The new company supplies maintenance and aircraft parts, for the legacy Cruisemaster and Viking aircraft. Bellanca Aircraft Corporation’s aircraft models include Wright-Bellanca WB-1, Wright-Bellanca WB-2, CH-200 Pacemaker, Model K, Model P series, C-27 Airbus, Model J, CH-300 Pacemaker, TES Tandem Blue Streak, CH-400 Skyrocket, 66-67 Aircruiser family, J-300/J-3-500, XSE-1 & XSE-2.
