Epic Aircraft is a general aviation aircraft manufacturer based in Bend, Oregon. Their flagship product is the Epic E1000 GX single engine turboprop design. The company was founded in 2004 by Rick Schrameck, an experienced figure in both the computer hardware and aviation composites industries. Epic initially sold kits for the Epic LT, which was approved as an amateur-built craft by the FAA in 2006. The company experienced financial difficulties and underwent bankruptcy in 2009. In 2012, Russian businessman Vladislav Filev of S7 Airlines purchased Epic, and the company is now owned by Filev and his family through Cyprus-based MVF Key Investments Ltd. In 2013, the company discontinued LT kit orders to concentrate on certifying the E1000, which is based upon the LT. The E1000 received certification from the FAA in November 2019.
