FIAT

Fiat Aviazione was an Italian aeronautical manufacturer that was founded in 1908 by Giovanni Agnelli. Initially, the company focused on designing and producing aircraft engines before diversifying its production to complete aircrafts. After World War I, Fiat consolidated several small Italian aircraft manufacturers to become one of the most significant players in military aviation. Some of its most famous designs include the CR.32 and CR.42 biplane fighter aircraft, the CR.20 and G.50 fighters, and the BR.20 bomber. In the 1950s, Fiat Aviazione designed the G.91 light ground attack plane. In 1969, the company merged with Aerfer to create Aeritalia, which later became Alenia Aeronautica in 1990. Today, the legacy of Fiat Aviazione is directly linked to Avio, and the company has had many international collaborations with major players in the aeronautical industry such as General Electric, Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney, and Eurocopter.
