FOKKER

Fokker was a Dutch aerospace manufacturer that was founded in 1912 by Anthony Fokker. During its history, the company operated under different names and enjoyed success in both the commercial airliner and military aircraft market. Fokker gained fame during World War I for its fighter planes and was responsible for introducing revolutionary armament which led to a period of German air superiority known as the Fokker Scourge. In 1919, the company relocated its operations to the Netherlands and dominated the civil aviation market during the 1920s and 1930s. Unfortunately, Fokker went bankrupt in 1996 and its operations were sold to competitors. The company’s founders and key executives included Anthony Fokker, Reinhold Platz, and Walter Rethel.
