Glasair Aviation USA, LLC is an American aircraft manufacturer headquartered in Arlington, Washington. They produce a line of homebuilt aircraft, including the Glasair and Sportsman 2+2, and have delivered over 3000 kits worldwide. The company was founded in 2001 by Thomas W. Wathen after purchasing the assets of Stoddard-Hamilton Aircraft. In 2012, the company was acquired by the Jilin Hanxing Group and became Glasair Aircraft USA, LLC. They retained production in Arlington and had plans to certify the Glastar design. Randy Lervold became the CEO of the company in May 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has laid off production and builder-assist staff, retaining ten employees for product support and engineering. The company plans to take limited orders for possible fulfillment in 2023. Glasair Aviation has produced a range of aircraft, including the Low-wing, two-seat Glasair I, the High-wing, two-seat GlaStar, and the High-wing, four-seat Sportsman 2+2. They have also produced the High-wing, two-seat SLSA aircraft, the Glasair Merlin LSA.
