MAULE

Maule Air, Inc. is an aviation company based in Moultrie, Georgia, dedicated to the manufacturing of light, single-engined, short take-off and landing (STOL) aircraft. The company was founded in 1941 by Belford D. Maule (1911-1995), who designed his first aircraft at the age of 19. Throughout the years, Maule Air has established itself as a well-regarded name in the aviation industry, delivering 2,500 aircraft in its first 50 years of business.

The family-owned enterprise has become a popular choice for bush pilots, given the unique features of their tube-and-fabric designs that include their very low stall speed, tundra tires, and oleo strut landing gear. Most Maules are built with tailwheel or amphibious configurations, although the newer MXT models have tricycle gear.

Maule Air’s product line includes a range of models, such as the M4-210, M-5-180C, and M-7, among others, with wingspans ranging from 29’8″ to 33′ 6″ and engines that range from 180 HP Lycoming Carb to 260 HP Lycoming IO-540-V4A5.

Today, Maule Air operates with a team of 36 dedicated employees and continues to innovate and push boundaries in the aviation industry as it has done for nearly 80 years.
