MEYERS

Meyers Aircraft Company was a US aircraft manufacturing company established by Al Meyers in Tecumseh, Michigan in 1936, operating at what is now Meyers-Diver’s Airport. The company originally produced the Meyers OTW biplane trainer, followed by a range of light utility aircraft after World War II, culminating in the Meyers 200. In 1965, the company and the rights to two of its aircraft, the 145 and 200, were acquired by the Aero Commander Division of Rockwell-Standard.

After the acquisition, various attempts were made to put the Meyers 200 back into production, including by a company in Denver in 1977 and the New Meyers Aircraft Company, which started construction on a new factory in Fort Pierce, Florida in 1996, with plans to develop the MAC-145 into the SP20. By 1994, the type certificate for the MAC-145 was owned by a company in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Throughout Meyers Aircraft Company’s history, it produced the following aircraft: Meyers OTW, Meyers Me-165W, Meyers MAC-145, and Meyers 200. The company officially closed its doors in 1965.
