PZL Mielec is an aerospace manufacturer based in Mielec, Poland. The company was formerly known as WSK-Mielec (Wytwórnia Sprzętu Komunikacyjnego) and WSK “PZL-Mielec.” PZL Mielec is currently the largest aerospace manufacturer in postwar Poland, with 1,600 employees as of 2021. The company has a rich history, having been founded in 1939 and acquired by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in 2007. Previously, PZL Mielec was owned by PZL, Heinkel, and Lockheed Martin. Between 1948 and 2014, PZL Mielec manufactured approximately 15,600 aircraft. The company specializes in license-built and internally designed aircraft. Its portfolio includes the PZL M-28B Bryza 1R of the Polish Navy.
