Morane-Saulnier was a French aerospace company that was established in October 1911 by Raymond Saulnier and the Morane brothers, Léon and Robert. Its initial product was a monoplane, the Morane-Borel, which used a wing-warping mechanism for control and won the Paris-Madrid race in May 1911. The company developed a series of aircraft, including the wire-braced shoulder-wing Morane-Saulnier G, which was very successful in racing and setting records, and the single-seat fighter Morane-Saulnier N. The company underwent diversification and was eventually bought out by Potez on January 7, 1962. Its successors included Societe d’Exploitation des Etablissements Morane-Saulnier (SEEMS) and SOCATA.
