The Peña Capeña is a low-wing, aerobatic amateur-built aircraft of French origin that was designed by Louis Peña, an accomplished aerobatic pilot from Dax, Landes. Plans for amateur construction are available for this aircraft. The Capeña has a single seat enclosed cockpit with a bubble canopy, a fixed conventional landing gear, and a single engine in tractor configuration. The wingspan of the aircraft is 6.8m with an area of 7.65m2, and it is made from wood. The recommended engine for the Capeña is the Lycoming AEIO-360 four-stroke powerplant with an output of 180 to 200 hp. The Peña Bilouis, a two-seater version of the Capeña, was created later. The Capeña has a maximum speed of 325 km/h, a cruise speed of 280 km/h, and a rate of climb of 15 m/s. Plans for the aircraft are still available in 2012.
