Sikorsky Aircraft is a well-known American aviation manufacturer headquartered in Stratford, Connecticut. Established in 1923 by aviation pioneer Igor Sikorsky, the company was among the first to manufacture helicopters for civilian and military use. It has since become a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin. The company operates several divisions, including Sikorsky Development Flight Centre in West Palm Beach, Florida and Hawk Works in Elmira-Corning Regional Airport in New York. The company also has subsidiaries such as PZL Mielec and formerly owned Schweizer Aircraft. Sikorsky Aircraft is known for producing notable helicopter models such as the UH-60 Black Hawk and SH-60 Seahawk.
