Daher-SOCATA was a French aerospace company that specialized in the manufacture of fixed-wing aircraft and aircraft structures. They produced general aviation aircraft such as business planes, small personal or training aircraft, as well as aircraft structures for other manufacturers such as Airbus, Dassault, Embraer, Eurocopter and Lockheed Martin. The company was headquartered in Tarbes, France.
The company was originally founded in 1911 as Morane-Saulnier, and in 1966 it changed its name to SOCATA (Société de Construction d’Avions de Tourisme et d’Affaires, or “Company for the construction of aircraft for tourism and business”) following its acquisition by Sud Aviation. SOCATA later became a subsidiary of the aerospace conglomerate EADS, and in 2008, DAHER acquired a 70% stake in the business. By 2015, the SOCATA name was no longer in use and the company was rebranded as Daher.
