Taylorcraft Aviation is a long-standing airplane manufacturer with over 70 years of experience producing small, single-engined aircraft. The company’s design features a conventional layout with a high-wing, fabric-covered, two-seat design, which has remained virtually unchanged since its inception in 1936. Today, this design is marketed as a personal sport aircraft. The founder of Taylorcraft Aviation, Clarence Gilbert Taylor, created the original Taylor Cub in 1931 in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Taylor and his brother Gordon formed Taylor Brothers Aircraft Corporation in Rochester, New York, in 1926. The company was later renamed Taylorcraft Aviation Corporation in 1939. During World War II, the U.S. Army Air Forces utilized Taylorcraft’s DCO-65 model for training, liaison, and observation purposes. Taylorcraft has been producing aircraft in various locations throughout its history, and the company’s headquarters are currently located in Brownsville, Texas, in the United States.
