WACO

The Waco Aircraft Company was a former American aircraft manufacturer based in Troy, Ohio that operated between 1920 and 1947. The company specialized in producing reliable biplanes, including open cockpit and closed-cabin models, which were popular with businessmen, postal services, and explorers. The company began operations as Weaver Aircraft Company of Ohio in 1920 before rebranding as Waco Aircraft Company in 1928/29. During World War II, Waco produced a large number of gliders for the RAF and US Army Air Forces and also produced several biplane models. The Waco name was prominent in the US aircraft registry during the interwar period, with the company producing a range of production and experimental models of biplanes and cabin sesquiplanes.
